Building our future TOGETHER!
Welcome to the MiraCosta Faculty Assembly website. This website was created by MiraCosta faculty, for MiraCosta faculty. This is not only your website; the FA is your organization.
The Faculty Assembly is the exclusive bargaining agent for full time faculty working conditions. A successful, effective, and supportive campus community involves faculty engagement and input, and your FA representatives are here to advocate, review, deliberate, and act on issues ranging from salary and load to health benefits and retirement policies. Contact us by email or join us at our meetings on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month.

As of fall 2018, over 70% of full-time faculty contribute a fraction of their salaries to the FA. In doing so, they have helped make the FA an increasingly formidable part of the MCC community despite the fact contributions are now and have always been entirely voluntary. Thanks to all of you who contribute and I hope you will consider joining the FA leadership so that we can continue to take full advantage of our remarkable talents and set the best possible course for future working conditions developments.
Those who have been involved with the FA in recent years have seen the powerful contribution that collective bargaining makes to the college community. The fair, predictable working conditions we have established allow faculty to focus on our college mission and promote student success.
Here's looking forward to the role the FA will continue to play in making MiraCosta an ideal academic environment for faculty to work and thrive.
-Brad Byrom, FA President

SUPPORT THE FA
The Faculty Assembly has been working hard on your behalf, but we need more than hard work to do the job well. The FA needs legal expertise, travel funds, and various other items that require contributions from our members (all Full Time faculty). Contributing is quick and easy--and very inexpensive in comparison to costs associated with large unions.
